VIX Futures

• As volatility becomes a recognized asset class and as CBOE Volatility Index® (VIX®) futures volume and open interest continue to set new records, demand for longer trading hours has also mounted from investors in the U.S. and abroad.
• On December 10*, CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) plans to extend VIX futures' opening time to 7:20 a.m. from 8:30 a.m. (Chicago time) -- allowing market participants to establish or offset positions impacted by news and events occurring before the general market open.
